GSM/CDMA System for Emergency Response and Tactical Communications
WASHINGTON , DC , October 23, 20 06 - TECORE ® Wireless Systems, a leading developer and manufacturer of next-generation wireless systems, and TCOM, L.P., a world-leading provider of weather-hardened tethered aerostat systems, will unveil the Airborne Rapid Deployment Cellular System at MILCOM 2006. The innovative GSM/CDMA wireless system utilizes TECORE's Rapid Response Mini-Cellular Systems and TCOM's mobile 17M ä Aerostat to quickly deploy a wide area cellular coverage umbrella for emergency response situations and tactical communications.
Available in a variety of configurations, TECORE's multi-technology Rapid Response Systems support both GSM and CDMA wireless voice and data services, using the industry's only multi-technology Mobile Switching Center . The TCOM tactical 17M ä Aerostat, equipped with RF payload and antenna systems, can be deployed at up to 1,000 feet, providing unobstructed cellular coverage areas of over 600 square miles. Self-contained in two 20 ft. ISO containers, the complete system can be deployed in two hours or less. The system can interface with local telecommunications and/or satellite facilities to provide integrated reach back services. A live demonstration of the airborne system is planned for 2007.
At MILCOM 2006, being held October 23-25 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington , DC , TECORE will also be displaying its other wireless solutions for government and military communications, including its IntelliJAM ™ System.
