TCOM's 71M®
Our Premier Aerostat

The 71M® aerostat is the world's most widely used large aerostat system providing unsurpassed performance at 15,000 feet and higher. With an overall length of 71 meters and a hull volume of 16,000 cubic meters, the 71M® provides substantial payload capacity, highest operational altitude and longest continuous on-station time. Today 71M® aerostats are providing stable, long endurance high altitude platforms for:

  • Long range radars
  • Passive surveillance payloads
  • Communications relays

With its large payload bay and powered tether system, the 71M® easily accommodates today's high-power, long-range radars that provide continuous detection of surface targets and low flying aircraft out to 200 nautical miles. The 71M® can also accommodate future radars that are presently under development. Today's 71M® aerostat is now available with a fully transportable mooring system. This allows for rapid relocation of the complete 71M® aerostat to a new site location quickly countering emerging threats.
