Our 23,600 square foot Aerostat Production Facility stands on 4.6 acres of land and is located less than seven miles from the hangar complex. It has a 20-ft high bay section and an environmentally controlled "clean room". Approximately one-half of the building is devoted to the clean room which minimizes exposure to dust and other pollutants during fabrication. The open floor space of the clean room allows fabrication and complete assembly of smaller aerostats. The high bay section is used for air inflations, structural inspections and proof pressure testing of the smaller aerostats. Adequate storage, staging, packaging, and shipment logistics are available and the plant is serviced by the Chesapeake and Albemarle Railroad, which runs along the rear property line.
